V Don’s ascent began early producing beats as a teenager on PlayStation and FL Studio before refining his sound in Richmond, Virginia. By 2010, he was already making waves, producing the single “Large On The Streets” for fellow Harlem resident Vado, which premiered live at the XXL Top 10 Freshman Concert and later on BET’s 106 & Park. In 2011, his production of A$AP Rocky’s platinum-certified “Long Live ASAP” from the RCA/Polo Grounds debut placed him among the most sought-after producers in hip-hop.
Over the years, Serious Soundz and V Don have collaborated with an impressive roster of celebrated artists including 50 Cent, 2 Chainz, A$AP Rocky, Curren$y, Dave East, Dark Lo, Da$h, Lloyd Banks, Jadakiss, Styles P, Smoke DZA, The LOX, Vado, and Willie The Kid. Expanding even further, he’s worked closely with members of the Griselda movement such as Westside Gunn, Benny The Butcher, Boldy James, Rome Streetz, and Estee Nack, helping define the signature dark, cinematic sound that fuels the underground renaissance.
